Christ Church of Orlando is located only 5 doors (600ft) away from where the attack took place at Pulse Night Club on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Upon arriving early on Sunday morning, we discovered that our facility was located well behind security lines and completely surrounded by law enforcement. Immediately we wanted to do whatever we could to help. Since early Sunday morning we have been serving the first responders, crisis management teams, and public officials (such as Senators, our Governor, commissioners, etc,) by providing food, water, and refuge, as well as a cool place to regroup out of the 90 degree heat. We have literally served hundreds of people, 24 hours a day, and many of these individuals have said that we have on every level provided to them “sanctuary”.
Many of you have called and asked how you could help. Up to this point, because of our proximity to Pulse, there has been very limited access to our facility. However, we have been able to manage with our great staff and team of volunteers. Please know that at this time, as members of the family of God, we feel like we have been your hands and feet on the ground. We believe that God has placed us here for this reason at this time.
How you can help:
Pray for those who are injured and those who have experienced loss. Pray for our community leaders. Pray for those our first responders who have seen unspeakable things and are still working tirelessly for our community.
Pray for our church to continue to be strong and fulfill the work that God has placed us for in this location.
It is our honor to serve this community in the Spirit of Christ. We are encouraging you to also find a place in your community to pray and serve. If not here, find a place to serve near you that might help someone who would be walking through a crisis also.
Your financial support of Christ Church of Orlando financially during this season is greatly appreciated. Not only are we directly underwriting many of these expenses, we also have lost a week of general income since we were unable to hold worship service on Sunday, June 12. Thank you for your generosity.

Showing compassion to the Orlando community is the reason we are here.
